« on: 23 October 2012, 19:12 »
Hi ive been told that my injector/s may be on the way out. i have the mk4 arz engine and wondering if the injectors out of the agu etc engines would work, or the audi tt. i cant seem to find any for the arz only agu etc, and also im used to dealing with diesels that need the injectors programming would i need to do anything like this with these injectors, Or would be possible or worth trying to clean them thanks.

Need the ones with a long nose  but if you go for the tt/s3 they won't just be plug and play

They look like this

2000 GTI 1.8t ARZ, S2000 filter, DSG intake, Forge 007 dv, Catch can, R-tech custom remap, 3" Supersize Silicone TIP, Powerflex dog bone, 'The Beast' FMIC, Ultimate delete, LCR fuel pump, 3" Turbo back, K03 hybrid, Ported Manifold, S3 injectors, 80mm maf = 280bhp 270lbft

Who told you it was injectors, more likely to be the fuel pump
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

well i originally thought it would be the fuel pump, but the guy at the garage said they rarely go. the fuel pump still primes. It looks like the injector/s may be leaking a bit so ill need seals at the least. Plus theres like a slight tapping noise coming from near injectors does not sound like valve clearance, so he thought the injector/s where going bad. let me know your thoughts or tests that can be done if any to test the theories thanks guys.

also the tt injectors, the guy says they wont be plug and play, if they are and i need them how much and are they in good working order and where can i get seals, been told there different on some of the injectors.

Injectors mainly just need a sonic wash, pumps get tired over time, how long has the current one in probably since the car was built.

You need the Audi TT 225 ones or S3 injectors for the ARZ but they do need mapping in.

the pump is more than likely the original, ive only had the car 3 weeks and it has done 112k so its more than likely the pump, regarding the injector seals were can i get them from, also if i clean the injectors myself with a ultra sonic what liquid would you recommend using thanks. i do get a bad bad petrol smell first thing when starting with quite a bit of white smoke(like unburnt fuel) also if i put my foot down and the car feels sluggish i get the petrol smell as-well. i have changed the fuel filter so i know its not that, it has been decatted but it has the pre lambda sensor as-well as the post thanks.

think its the decat that makes it smell like unburnt fuel as since i did mine it smells like it runs very rich,

but with what your saying if anything its getting more than enough petrol so the pump and injectord are fine!!!!

so what is the reason you think they are bad? mine tick, just change the seals and go from there, but beware, i got new seals from VW and even thou they were the right p/n they didnt fit (just used the old seals in the end  )

There are clips that retain each injector to the fuel rail check they are ok, have you checked that the two bolts holding the fuel rail to the inlet are also tight.

VW wanted around £4 per injector seal  :lipsrsealed:
