My friend got caught by the Belgian plod doing 93mph....trying to keep up with me

Good job they weren't behind us just a few miles back

Made me think twice though!

I never do over 150mph now!

Just kidding about the 150mph!

I got collared for doing 40mph+ on my mountain bike in a 30.

Though oddly never got caught doing the cannon ball run on the same bike down into Sheffield through all them red lights. :-)

I got done doing 66 coming into a 30. Hands up, was idiotic. As I went passed a garden centre the police car popped out...court, 6 points, £80 fine. I was in a van at the time.

Then whilst working in NZ for 6 weeks earlier this year, I got caught doing 130 kmh in a 100 zone (100 is the limit on a motorway), hadn't seen a car for 15 minutes then the copper coming the other way pulls me. They can clock you coming towards you, unlike ours. $250 fine!

Then when I got home I got 2 more tickets, both for 5kmh over, in 80 limits!! That was in a Land Cruiser.

And I thought we had it bad until I went out there...!

Interestingly, I haven't been caught in the GTI, or on my Speed Triple!

sorry but 66mph in a 30 is ridiculous and you got away very lightly with that one. i would have expected a ban to be honest.

speeding on deserted or quiet road or even main roads is one thing but in built up area thats another matter altogether.

im totally anti-speed camera and luckily where i live the police don't have any but i think there is a place for them around schools and parks etc where kids/families are vulnerable.

I know that...it wasn't a built up 30 which is probably why I didn't get a ban. Present yourself well in court, and say straight out that you were a complete idiot and you can be looked upon favouribly. It probably helped that I proved the prosecution wrong on a couple of things.

I did the same - just said I was sorry, it was stupid and I've learnt my lesson. One of the magistrates then said he'd been caught speeding the week before

I'm now very alert to posh possible unmarked cars, I probably no most of them round these parts as I've seen them pulling peeps but you never know these days what sort of vehicles the plod might use...

That's very true Mr GTD; not always posh cars though. The plod in my area have a black unmarked 56 plate Mondeo ST220. Sneaky...........

Saw a Carbon Grey GTI on the M69 with twinklies on a while back that had just pulled over a mondeo! Warwickshire police seem to have a good selection of unmarked cars. Saw an Evo doing 70 (unusual I thought!) in the slow lane on the M69 and was not surprised to see uniforms in the car.
Mk6 GTI Carbon Grey, 2010 Bluetooth and voice fitted, a few VCDS mods still a comfortable family car. Red Scirocco 2011 twin charger stage 1 - enjoyable drive now gone.  White 2016 Polo GTI (roller skate on steroids) replaced with an Indium Grey 2019 7.5 GTI PP.
