Fog Lights.
« on: 23 October 2012, 08:21 »
Hi,

Now that the dark nights are upon us and with a 300 mile drive at night I checked all my lights were working correctly.

Everything thing was fine except for the fog lights. The Drivers side fog light doesn't appear to have a bulb, bulb holder or any wiring. The passenger side rear fog light has no bulb fitted and when I tried one, it didn't work.

Is this normal? Thanks for any suggestions.

1) What model do you have as not all Golfs were fitted with fogs

2) There is only one fog light for the drivers side and you have to wire it up i believe; not simply stick a bulb in

Hi,

It's a 2002 52 plate Golf Gti 1.8 T. It is the projector beam in the headlight, I always thought fog lights were low but there you go. The one on the near side comes on when you pull the headlight switch out.

Thanks.

Has it had it's headlight replaced with a non fog light unit at some time?

The non fog light headlights have a moulding that's similar to the projector fog light, so can look very similar at first glance.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Hi,

That is something I will have to look into when it is light. I havn't noticed any spare wires there though.

Cheers.
