I drive an 89 16v kr with ported and polished head, full s/s exhaust and manifold.

I get around 250 miles to a tank of sainsburys super unleaded.

I am starting to think my bus has an octane addiction as I'm sure
I used to get more to a full tank, could be my right foot!!
Sso what are your figures guys n gals???

i get 350 miles out of my std 16v lump in my sportline. but i got 420 out of it on a run to scotland

when i ran my modded lump it still did the same apart from when i ran carbs and then it would 'just' do 250 miles!

250 sounds very low for your mods IMO

I get an average of ~400 miles to a full tank on my 91 8v, mostly motorway miles. Can't help but think that I am a bit hard on the motor - am driving Huddersfield -> York on a daily commute!

monzablue16v - Were you parked in B&Q in Huddersfield on Sunday lunchtime?

monzablue16v - I was in the wifes black Mini One and was parked real close to you.

You don't drive down Wakefield road from Grange Moor to Horbury Bridge do you? That is one sweet road. I am normally on there at around 6.30 and you can fllllly down there!

Every morning and night at mach 10 Saldavor beauty road for a high speed drive home we'll have to hook up for a bevvy somewhere local pm me if you want, we'll stop going off topic now!

Had her tuned up not long back and co is still at 2.0? and coil/ht side is fine fuelling seems fine I am most confused by t'old girl! fuel is expensive enough as it is without going through two tanks a week!! My mfa isn't working but i think thats the speedo head, any ideas on what to fiddle with to try and get some more economy out of her aside from taking the lead from my foot!

my '90 16v does about 320 if I'm very gentle with it, usually around the 280 mark though!

guess its running a bit rich too!
