Hi all newby here just got me a mk4 gti with fat 19"s fitted. Anyway got a problem with my stereo. Had no sound coming out. Went to halfords they tested the unit as it was fine. Problem i have has is a preveus owner has hacked of the wiring loom so to replace it all was £45 for the wires so i got a new stereo instead and got a loom to solder onto the stock wires. Did all that and still have a problem.
The new unit says check wiring then reset. Looked at the instructions this says wiring fault with the speakers. Just checked the wires against a post on here to check i had the right wires hooked and they are all fine.
So i am scratching my head now as to what is wrong. Any help most welcome.
Guessing i have a broken wire somewhere but hell where to look. BTW it was working but was not very good quality sound. The last owner had also hooked up the lives back to front and had no areal lead hooked up, surprised he did not notice. lol!
