Runnin a little crap, G28 sensor location?

Ok so he other day I thought the golf was runnin a little funny feels a bit unno at low revs and I thought it may be missing.

Ten that night I went to start it and it turned over for about 30 seconds before it started!
I thought it may be the crank position sensor.
So I scanned it and got this.....

16706/P0322/000802 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28): No Signal

Possible Symptoms
Engine shuts off
Engine doesn't start
Speedometer inoperative
Glow Plug Indicator Lamp (K29) flashes

Possible Causes
Engine Speed Sensor (G28) loose
Engine Speed Sensor (G28) faulty

Possible Solutions
Check Engine Speed Sensor (G28)

Special Notes
The Engine Speed Sensor (G28) is also used as a reference sensor for the crankshaft position.

So the question is where is this sensor located?? I have search but with no success!

Also this evening I was in traffic and flicked the lights on and it it out! But then was fine, don't know if this is related!

mine did this the other day chap. the sensor is located at the bottom on the front of the block. between the gearbox and the oil filter.

if you whip off the engine covers you will see a connection block with three plugs. two are the knock sensors, the other the crank sensor.

false economy to buy anything cheap, it plays an important job. i got this one....

arrived next day.

as mine wouldnt start i had to do the swop on my drive. easy enough with a jack and decent tool kit.

if you dont fix it soon it will leave you stranded!

Gonna give gsf Sheffield a ring tommorow see if they have a genuine Bosch part if not I will buy that!
