New Forge Actuator
« on: 12 September 2012, 15:09 »
I just had a new Forge Actuator fitted on my Aum, but what I am wanting to know is, does the ecu take a little time to get used to it before I would feel the benefit, as my old one was not working correctly. My car is a stage one remap too

Thanks

Nah it should be fine mate, I put mine on straight on before a remap and it was fine although mine was on a AGU.

Youl notice a difference 5k revs onwards

Actuator will only hold as much boost as the ECU tells it to.

Gaurentee it will have made a difference, might just need mapping in to take extra benefit.

Whats up with it?

The problem is that I had it remapped by R-tech, about 2 years ago, and I have only ever felt the remapped power for about 6 months out of those 2 years! I have changed everything, started off with the silicone pipes, ended up getting a catch can, new coil packs with recall, Forge DV, new silicone tip, all new silicone turbo boost hoses, new n75, agu charge pipe and hose, new maf, N249 deleted, coolant sensor changed, Secondary air pump rivets replaced with bolts and now new Forge actuator. And I am not getting 200+ bhp, but no more than 165  :undecided:

Best bet would be to take it to r-tech for a diagnostics sessions.

Yeh, but the only problem with that is that they may need it longer than a day so one of them said to me on the phone, and I live about 180-ish miles away on the south coast, plus I need my car pretty much every day

Book a room at the premier inn? If you discuss it with r-tech they could probably sort somethin with you and get two days booked in back to hack but I know they ate quite busy lately.
