it will fit yes mate, but you'll also need the driveshafts from the leon, as well as the shifter and cables from inside the car, the left hand engine mount from the 02M gearbox, the 6 speed clutch and flywheel, and a clutch slave cylinder as they're internal on the 02M and external on the o2J.

lot of work but it'll go if it's what you want. if you've got a leon to rob all the parts from it's not too bad.

There are arguably no gains at all!

I much prefer my 5 speed for high speed work, and the 5th and 6th gears are very similar anyway, so no real cruising advantage.

Let me know how you get on with this, had to sell my Edition 30 and downgrade to a mk4 gti, after a month I'm still trying to shift into the 6th gear I dont have! Seriously considering doing this to mine.

Don't do it man!

These cars are better on a 5 speed for sure!

Better to stick with the 5spd set up.

The fifth gear in the 02j is near as makes no difference as long as the 6th gear in the 02m
The only reason why some upgrade is because the 02m is inherently a stronger box partly because of the larger clutch, flywheel and diff size. Unless your lunching gearboxes with big power I wouldn't bother.
