I'm a lazy so & so and am an utter gym phobe. However I chunked up considerably so needed to lose some. My wife & I made some changes to our diets and I lost 26lbs in just under 4 months. Felt an awful lot better for it. We actually did Weightwitchers Points believe it or not (her sister had all the stuff so we didn't have to pay for it).

We both enjoy our food a lot so some of it has gone back on but I am moving offices soon; an 8-mile round trip bike ride each day will help me stay slimmer too!

Keeping schtum. Mostly.

Your bmi is 35, 6ft3 and 280 lbs = 35 bmi  :nerd:

Not what the docs said

I'm the same height as you it did not look right to me so i checked it on NHS BMI CALCULATOR it makes your bmi 35 which is clinically obese, its only a guide it really depends on your build.

the online calculators are a guide and in no way accurate.

It was quite a bit more than answering weight and height. The questionnaire I filled out had a series of questions ranging from diet, exercise, family history.

Maybe I heard the doc wrong. But I doubt it.

I am also 6'3" and 210lbs and doctor classed my BMI as slightly too high, the top end of the scale for our height is just over 200lbs.

As you say though it all depends on your body fat% as that is a much better guide, if you carry a lot of muscle it skews he figures.

Good luck with the weight loss, just remember 80% diet and  20% exercise.....
