Removal of timing belt top cover
« on: 25 August 2012, 09:32 »
How do I get the top cover off? I'm really struggling, there must be a knack to it.  :embarrassed: It was replaced when I had timing belt done, so don't want to damage this one.

A clip each side then should just slide up and off :)

   Clips are off

The cover is loose, but I just can't bring it up more than half an inch before it snags.  Need it off as I need the cam on TDC to do the chain tensioner.

Does it come off back towards the bulk head, or straight up?  Its almost as if I need the power steering reservoir out the way or something?

Slides upwards and backwards.

Thanks man.  I'll have another go tomorrow.  Got really frustrated with it earlier and don't want to break it!
