My friend who is the Mk2 man went up to Bradford from London, cash in pocket to buy the mint 16v Mk2

Sadly my and Will's definition of mint is mint .... not rusted rear end and boot floor

So, back he came with the cash and no car

The search continues but the Corrado Storm I had as a plan B sounds attractive

What a PITA.... All that way to find it was a Nail...

Why can't people just be honest when selling stuff!!

Sounds like a normal £1K car...

Will reckons that its a £2000 car

In reality its a car that has had an engined replaced with another one (no details on the source) and rust where he had not seen rust before .....

I was very much swayed by the VW dealer in Morecombe saying it was mint. The seller was doing his best to sell and has overpriced the car

Oddly enough the high price made me think it must be a good one . Mugs away!

In all honesty, I'm not at all surprised, A 20+ years car with over a 100k on the clock
The days of finding a rust free Mk2 are very probably over! Even the elusive time warp cars have rust, especially GTI's with all the extra water traps
I suspect that full body rebuilds are now going to be the way forward to achieve what so many want!

I hope this isn't true....

There must be one or two out there that are "More or Less" rust free...

I don't mean rust free panels or tailgates, but actual shell's on the whole that are rot free....

They may take some finding but lets not give up hope...

As it so happens the 3 door that I've got at present that was a "Cat C right off" is rust free.... but it needs wings and doors and a tailgate... but who would wanna buy it??
