VDS Pro and a very old laptop with serial port connections.

You can buy a device that plugs into the OBD port which reprograms the central convenience module adding fob control - KWP1000?

Surely will be someone on here locally with the software who could do it for beer monies

I could be wrong, but I think it depends on the mk4 and key?

I can only make my windows go up/down by putting the key into the lock and turning. It doesn't work via the buttons. Mines an early '99 GTI.

It's down to the CCM by the look of it. Seems it works on the later versions and not the early ones. My aftermarket alarm does the windows on the button anyways. Might try it on Briceys car lol

If you've got a VAG COM cable give it a go and report back
