Mine is 1000 on an 16v how can I slow it down the idle screw is down as far as it can

Sounds like your injector seals are worn and drawing air through them if you cant get the idle any lower than 1k rpm. Good test is with car running spray wd40 down round injector seats, if engine note changes then you know they replaced

950-1000rpm is the correct idle speed for a 16v

Mine is a 16v but is set up for the track...idles at 1300? not sure if that's because it has been played with  :undecided:
