If you slide the seat all the way back there is a black pin in the centre underneath that needs pushing together and justs pulls out!

Then push the set back towards the rear bench seat out!

There is a guide somewhere in the maintenance section.

When I did mine I couldn't remove the headrest but you can peel the fabric back and put two slits in the foam below the headrest to remove the old foam and again in the new foam to refit. Once it is all back together you can't tell.

Sorry just reread your post. It's the top half of the drivers seat cover you want to replace? You will need to remove the headrest then but not sure if this is possible. If you have a full donor seat not just the covers and foam you could swap the top half of the seat over.

as robo said. After that you need to remove the plastic cap and a long plastic bar (these are on the seat runner). You then slide the seat all the way back and it will pop out.
1ce you have the seat out you need to remove the backrest  adjusting knob (this just pops out) then to remove the black plastic cover you push 2 little pins in (very hard to spot) these are on the bit where the adjusting knob is.pull it of and do same on other side. After you have removed these you will then see the nuts. Remove from both side (i think these is about 4 it) the top half of the seat will drop or pull of.
If i get a chance i will get pics for you.
