Shoulder clicking and weakness
« on: 14 August 2012, 22:38 »
Over the last few years I've been having problems with my shoulders, right in the joint. I get a clicking very often when moving, especially during exercise. When moving I feel the collarbones sometimes "jumping" into their normal position throughout the movement. I'll point out now, I've broken my both my collarbones 4 times. 3 on the left and 1 major on the right, which is the side I feel it jump the most. The left side clicks the most. Sometimes I also have a low to mid intensity pain deep in my shoulder joint, this usually happens in the morning when I wake up. It's so painful, and my arm so weak that if I'm lying down I can't move my arm up.

Has anyone got, or had any similar problems? If so how did you sort it? GP?

I find exercise helps my catalogue of ailments, particularly the neck and shoulder issues I've had for the past 13 years or so due to been in a severe car accident which obliterated my left clavicle (collerbone) amongst other things.
If I don't stay 'physical' my fibromyalgia starts kicking up a  sh!t storm.

Gotta love this - Khare comes on to a Motoring forum to ask medical advice. Get it checked out man!

Seriously, I've had enough issues with shoulders - 2 years of constant pain followed by 2 operations. Go and get an appointment booked. Might be nothing, but also could be serious. Speak to an expert, not a bunch of spanner-wielding Internet junkies!

Though that said, I do have one of these if you want something done quickly...

Keeping schtum. Mostly.

Reason I ask here is because there might be a Doctor, who knows! I'll call my GP tomorrow and book myself in

Most physios I have visited insist 'Motion is lotion', I tell them other wise when it hurts to X muscle group!!!

Perhaps try to build up the shoulder muscles progressively, I feel many people over look shuolders when 'working out'. They are used a lot during the day and can become very weak if not built up....However I imagine this would depend on what circumstances you broke your collar bones on  :undecided:

Personally I wouldn't waste GP's time, he will only refer you to a physio who will take a while to see only to tell you to probably stretch more and slowly build up muscle...Not much else you can do unless it is totally FUBAR'd.
