coolant leak problem
« on: 31 July 2012, 14:16 »
I have pink fluid over my gearbox, which seems to be coming from the corrugated pipe shown in the picture with the green arrow. How do I go about fixing this? I have never fixed coolant pipes before, only boost and pcv pipes.

Thanks

Ive got a coolant leak in the same area lol I think it's the rubber O ring in the plastic bit that bolts to the head where all the water pipes go to in that area

+1 itll be from somewhere near it and getting splashed onto it, check where the sender is and surrounding area

Im assuming you have a 1.8T?

If so it sounds to me you have a leak from your Thermo area, the rubber ring sounds like it could of failed, check where the thermo goes and see if you can see anything.

I thought it was, as I had it changed about 3 months ago.

Must be some pipe that is split above the corrugated plastic pipe then, I will have a look. But in two days my coolant level has gone from max to min

Would a coolant leak cause the ecu to use less power?
