does a new actuator have to be mapped in again

If my actuator is not working properly, and I bought a new one, say a Forge one. Would it have to be mapped back into my stage one r-tech remap ?

Mods: R-Tech custom remap, Beachbuggy K250 Turbo, Forge 007 DV, RAMAIR Jetstream 108 induction filter, silicone piping throughout, R-Tech Supersize TIP, 42 Draft Stealth Catch Can, N249 bypass, Ported Manifold, Toyo Sports FMIC with 2 & 1/2 pipes, Custom made full turbo back exhaust & 2 & 1/2 " downpipe and 200 cell sports cat. BAM injectors, Turbosmart Boost Gauge, BBS CK Wheels, 312mm Brembo front discs and pads, Carbon canister delete and last of all, a liquid cube!

ideally yes as your boost control would be too much with the harder spring.

Depends how hard the N75 was made to work to keep the stock actuator to meet the required boost.  Obvilously a weaker stock actuator will have a harder N75 map than a newer stronger one.

Putting a nice strong actuator on something that was previously mapped to cope for something weak will cause overboosts.

Could put it on and do some logs and see what people think?

My car was remapped by R-Tech roughly about 18 months to 2 years ago, and I expect the actuator was ok then, but since then has probably got weaker. I changed my N75 valve yesterday for the original c one, and it does seem a little bit better, but is still not how it should be.

A while ago it was over boosting with the newer N75 e valve up to about 22 psi, but this seemed to be ok once I sorted out the boost leaks, although it was still not driving how a remapped car should

As R-Tech seem impossible to get hold of, I phoned up another remap company which is close to me, and they told me that I don't need to get a new actuator remapped in, if it is just a faulty component then it should be able to be replaced with no problem!

Id double check with r tech. sure it would be best to do some logs of duty cycle.

I Just spoke to them and as long as the new actuator is set the same as the old one then I won't need to get it mapped back in  :smiley:
