mk3 16v . guys got a issue when i rev the car up the air intake pipe sucks itself shut and starves the car from air coming in from the air box its wierd but i spotted this with the bonet up ! ive had this issue a while whenever ive been driving the car would limit at 3000 revs and obviouslly this is the reason because when i get to 3000 revs thats when the air intake pipe will be closed untill i let go of the throttle

Either the air filter/air box feed pipe is blocked, or the pipe has gone soft and weak, inspect air filter housing, then replace pipe.
