Anyone Surf?
« on: 25 July 2012, 11:08 »
I have just started about a month ago. Not great but better then most beginners with my skateboarding background thankfully! (All that means is i can actually get to my feet before being wiped out!)

Just wondered if anyone else did?

I have been surfing proper for a few years now (used to body board when I was younger).

My local area is Scarborough , tend to get out more in winter when there are less people about.

Went to newquay a few weeks ago and it was crowded already.

I am rubbish at it but I really love it.

I preferred bodyboarding to surfing, in SA surfers had to be out the water by 8am on the main beaches and had to head off to less pleasant shores but us bodyboarders were allowed to stay all day because we had better control of our boards - and we didn't knock people the f**k out if you did ride over them. The only problem was if you bailed on a wave, using your feet with was on and your calf muscle went into a spasm and popped out on place  Other than that getting your face dragged across the sea bed wasn't so bad if you f**ked up on a wave, face full of sand, mmmmm yum

Love it, used to go a couple of times a year but haven't been for years now. I also love bodyboarding.
