ED35 1/4 mile times?
« on: 24 July 2012, 14:17 »
What times have you guys run with your ED35 GTi? I recently ran a 12.5 with my car. The car has intake, full exhaust, WMI and APR software. The time was achieved with a full interior.

That sounds quite quick to me but I am no expert, what is the standard time 14? Never tried it or any of my other GTI's as always being used on the road and at present being our only car plus its bog standard  :embarassed:
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox

That is a mentally fast time for an ED35 with a full interior, regardless of anything else. Are you sure it isn't a 13.5?

I see you have WMI, so I'd suspect that is a big help. What tyres did you have on for the run?

Where did you do it and could you post up a slip or link for us doubters.

I ran the time at a local track which is about 5000ft above sea level. I ran with 17inch hoosier tyres upfront and my 19inch BBS at the rear.

here is the slip

Great pic that. Hoosiers really do produce great times.

What power are you putting down ?

182kph is 112.8 mph which would probably mean you are over 300whp and by the launch reaction delay I'd guess you are DSG too. Am I right?

I ran 12.6 in my tuned R and I bet I have more hp then yourself, something isn't right with that slip I'm afraid and before you bash my driving I just use launch control on my dsg and it physically won't go faster, I Carnt understand how a car with your mods and front wheel drive would beat my time down strip

Thanks, my car makes around 340whp and it is DSG. My 60ft times are bad. I have seen guys run 1.8 60ft with Hoosiers.
