Brakes soft after fitting ARB
« on: 19 July 2012, 08:31 »
Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone's got any ideas, since fitting a new ARB after lowering, when I put my car onto full lock the brake pedal will sink to the floor and the braking is very soft, it returns to normal after pumping pedal a little, and is absolutely fine when not on full lock??

Anyone experienced this as well??

Cheers

Have you broken a pipe is fluid level ok ?

Nothing arb related would affect the brakes so maybe you broke something or its just so happends something has fail at the same time.

If you have soft brakes dont drive it till its fixed

i experienced this when my wheel bearing was fooked. wheel would push pistons in i'd imagine, so when i press the pedal it would go down to floor. just a suggestion.

Sounds like you have damaged a brake line.

Problem solved.

It appears that the reason braking was crap on full lock was due to the brake cables kinking when stretched round the coil over on full lock, as it didn't fit in the clip due to lowering.
Cable tied it to the coilover to reduce movement and problem solved :-)

Happy days, Thanks all!!!
