Fitting a 3" maf sensor .. Help ?
« on: 17 July 2012, 16:11 »
Hi
Just wondering does the s3 maf fit straight onto a golf mk4 1.8t agu ??
Or does the plug have to be changed ?
Thanks

I think you have to remove the sensor and swap it out with your 1.8t one.

Thats what Iv done with my vr6 one.
1.6-1.8t AGU K03s, Forge actuator, Forge 007p, turbo back exhuast, Ths front mount, Catch can, 5 piece silicone boost pipes and creation sports tip. Stage 2 atm 232bhp 270lbs. Waiting for custom mapping :-)

+1 from what I have read
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Right so I need a vr6 maf and an agu maf ( as I don't have either ) then ??
I take it I just un screw the 2 screws by the plug on both and then put the agu sensor on the vr6 maf ?

Also isn't the vr6 maf the same as an s3 or lcr maf ??

You need a 2.75ID one.  WAs sensors over so 1.8T sensor is in VR6 housing.
