The way I see it is all types of intolorance and discrimination is bad, wether it be race, religion, appearance, disabilities and so on. Its all just mindless hatred with no real proper justification. But there is certainly an order of severity in terms of punishment. But what good is punishing someone for it, it may teach them not to say or do it, but does it stop them thinking it? Is thinking it ok? Education starts from birth, and I would think it comes from the people your are around rather than the education system itself. Its such a ridiculously overly complecated subject, gives me a headache thinking about it.

I Was accused of being racist once. I called a black co worker a lazy cnut, which he certainly was, always on one of his 3 phones, sitting with his feet on his desk, leering at pretty much any woman that went by.

He complained and made it a race thing, that i was talking down to him, and racially stereotyping. I wasnt, he was just a lazy cnut, and thats what i said to the manger in the special gay arse interview.

He was sacked 2 weeks later for refunding imaginary deposits onto his mates credit cards ......not stereotyping

Well you are because you're insinuating he fits the stereotype.

Stevie G was useless in the euros apart from the one game against Sweden. Go back have a look at the footage and your see it was jt that was captaining the team.

Look at the italy game where jt gave the team talk at extra time and Stevie me Gerrald was lying on the pitch having a massage.

As a person I can only go by what I see and read.
He appears to be from a poor criminal background with all the usual baggage that goes with it, like a lot of footballers.
As a footballer he is one of the best defenders this country has ever produced.
Most recent English footballers have risen from the estates and slums, what do you expect them to behave like?

I think this whole case is ridiculous. Not only has it taken prime importance in various news broadcasts over far more important issues, but has also been a big waste of money and court time.

Consider this, please:

If, for example, someone bumps into you or your missus in the street, nearly knocks you over, and then doesn't apologise but glowers at you, you are likely to angrily tell that person what you think of them. If that person looks....

....Fat, you will probably call them a fat slob.

....A chav, you will probably call them scum.

....Short, you will probably call them a short arsed twit.

....Thick, you will probably call them a stupid idiot.

....Old, you will probably call them a silly old git.

....Gay, you will probably call them a fecking poofta.

....Jewish, you will probably call them a yid.

....Black, you will probably call them a black so-and-so.

All you are doing is showing your anger by trying to insult them. You will automatically use words which reflect the person you are confronted with. It is better to let off steam by doing this than to swing a punch at them.

Using such terms doesn't mean you are a racist or a Nazi etc.

Regardless of whether you like John Terry or not he's clearly not a racist (someone who, in line with their beliefs, continually seeks to abuse a particular social group etc). A football pitch is an arena where there is much physical contact and often much perceived to be at stake in winning the game. Feelings run high.

There is a big difference between letting off steam by insulting someone and being racist. Are we not allowed to call each other names now?

It takes quite a level of stupidity to turn round an insult them by their appearance, race, sexual orientation etc. It makes you no better than them, in fact worse. If a black person was to bump into you in the street and not apologise and you turned round and called them a black so and so then you would almost certainly be a racist in my book. The fact you would turn around and instantly see they were black, and insult them because of it is racist. There are no excuses which makes it ok.

Regardless of whether you like John Terry or not he's clearly not a racist (someone who, in line with their beliefs, continually seeks to abuse a particular social group etc).

So if its not done more than once your not a racist then? Is the first go free or something? To say he is clearly not a racist without actually knowing him is a bit far fetched. Being a racist is inside you and not something that just appears on the surface. You don't have to act upon being a racist to be a racist.

But yeah your right it has been a whole waste of time. More fuel for the fire. A court case does not decide, or care,  if they are racist or not, Its just a means to deal with a complaint and distinguish who said what. Does nothing to solve the problem.

My dad had the same thing a few years ago on one of his sites. Called a black fella into his office to sack him for not wearing safety boots, glasses or hat.

The bloke then went into a rant saying he was only sacking him due to his skin colour (in an Ali G style voice, he said it was hilarious). My dad just turned round and said "no I'm just sacking you as you won't do as your told and I can get in trouble for it you prick"

He left the office shortly after with his tail between his legs
