BMC CDA and MAF sensors - help please
« on: 05 July 2012, 23:42 »
Hi guys I have tried the search function and google but can't find this anywhere!

I just fitted my bmc cda to my 1.8T ARZ and I'm well impressed! However I had to blank out the maf to test it as I didn't have the right pipe size I'm guessing, I have gone straight to the bmc and cut out the maf and it's housing.

(excuse the crappy pic)

So what I'm thinking is I have a reducer but I need the right size pipe from the maf housing to the reducer. Does any one know what size pipe I will need from the maf housing to the reducer (they are the same diameter)

Thanks guys!

Standard MAF is 75mm, if your kit is the same as mine it will be 80mm.

Sweet thanks Wayne, where's the best place to pick up a bit of 80mm pipe? Home base or does it need to be a certain type?

Thanks for all the help Wayne your a star

Another quick question, what do I do with the other hose which enters the air box? I noticed some people said to put a filter of some sort on it?

You might be able to see it on my pic tucked to the left of the BMC next to the engine cover.

Thanks for all the help, does anyone know if it will cause any harm running without the MAF until i can source a 80mm pipe?
