  • If I can't fix it at home, it ain't getting fixed.
I've been pondering about buying my old one back but I just don't have the space for it!

Nick

Have I sparked interest again or has this been running through your mind for a while?

Who's got it at the moment then, someone you know and is it up for grabs?  I'll look after it for you  Have the space but we are now already a four car family, probably enough for now!

No, no - you don't have anywhere near enough vehicles in your fleet at the moment - you should buy it ASAP.

Check the vacuum pull-down on the dizzi as well as the timing.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

Plus it could serve a great purpose alongside the mk2 as a track day team bus

Will do, checked all the hoses but not the vac advance as yet.

I sold it to my mat who lives in the block of flats behind us. It's parked just by where we park all our cars, lol.

I've been musing buying it back for a while, he doesn't use it, it has no MOT and he's thinking of selling up and buying a car. Since he's had it he's put a recon engine in it and driven it about 200 miles in 3 or 4 years.

That can't be doing it any good, it needs driving, it needs you as it's driver!   What motors in it?  I wish previous vehicles I have since sold on were still local, I'd be snapping a couple of them up if I could.

1.9 DG wasserboxer with an Empi twin exhuast and K&N filter for noisey induction. It went like a rocket and had into 3 figures on the way to porsmouth once.

Same as mine then, as seen only yesterday in this thread I put an empi twin on this, airbox setup is still standard at the mo.  Only thing i'm not happy about is where it's getting its feed from.   Must be sucking in so much hot air!

Triple figures!? feck!, be lucky to get past 80 in mine.

I can't see the pix at work but assumed it was an Empi. It will rust badly and quickly, they are shocking quality but sound brilliant. My first one was dead within 18months.

When I got triple figures it was completely empty and I may have been racing another empty T25 panel van to see who's wasquicker as he had a 2.0 Aircooled one. We called it a draw as we both bottled it.

Ah, well that explains it a little then, mines fully laden with all sorts! you must flick through the pics when you can then.

I am aware of the pros and cons of these silencers, I love the sound but know they don't weather well.  I have been allowing the paint to burn off so that I can then repaint it this weekend.
