Ok so spoken with dealer today, they have taken car out on several test drives, one of hem by a Tech who wins a MK6 GTi and plugged into diagnostics and ave confirmed car is showing o faults and is driving 'normally'.

They asked if there is anything else I want them to do, which I am happy for them not to as it has appeased my mind all is fine with the car.

Oh and for the best bit, no charge from dealer, very happy with the service

Good news.

I'd be interested to know if your clutch makes a "clunk" sound when pressing it down to disengage or if it's silent; on mine it's more noticeable when the engine is off and so there's no other noise.

Trip to the dealers then, guess a clutch could fall into the wear and tear bracket and therefore not covered by warranty?

It was replaced along with the slave cylinder a few weeks ago under warranty but it's still poorly

Mk6 R - Rising Blue 5 Door. Won't be standard 270bhp for long

Family Car : Mercedes ML420 with 360 bhp

I'm taking the car in again next week, they've booked a courtesy car for the entire week, so hope they'll find something. Also I know they have 3-4 used GTI's for sale so I am going to test drive every one of them if they don't find a problem and compare them, over an entire afternoon if necessary, already discussed and agreed with service manager
