Not sure if it is normal or if I am being paranoid but I get the feeling my car ( manual 2010 GTi ) is slightly hesitant at town driving speeds.

It feels as though it's just hesitating ever so slightly when on light throttle at low speed.

Running through full rev range up to higher speeds, feels fine and smooth, and fuel economy seems good.

Any thoughts? I will ring dealer tomorrow to have a look, but don't want to be finding issues which aren't there if this is an inherent characteristic of this engine around town?

Your thoughts and input would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have noticed this also in my 2009 man GTI (low mileage),the bite on the clutch in first gear when driving around car parks can also be a bit fierce at times ,i have had it checked and the dealer  never found  anything wrong ,never get any warning lights

fierce as in jerky, difficult to control? I've noticed the same. I've had my clutch and slave cylinder replaced and it's still no better, albeit before the clutch was slipping and now it isn't, and the slave was leaking and hopefully it isn't anymore!

Difficult to control at low speeds, first gear is not very smooth but I don't think there is much wrong I just think its the way its set up.
Golfgti build quality is average at best.

Yeah I totally agree with this. It is very difficult to control without being all jerky jerky.

I went through a stage of wearing different shoes but came to the conclusion its the clutch in first gear only.

Just got my golf and noticed this, I did ask the dealer when I picked it up as he said it was just something they all do.  To be honest the 12 plate one with 2000 miles on was exactly the same so I am inclined to believe them.

My Leon FR has the same pedal, and although diesel does not have this problem, car now at dealers for a few days so they can drive and assess, be interesting to get their view.

Will update accordingly, thanks for all input

Ok so spoken with dealer today, they have taken car out on several test drives, one of hem by a Tech who wins a MK6 GTi and plugged into diagnostics and ave confirmed car is showing o faults and is driving 'normally'.

They asked if there is anything else I want them to do, which I am happy for them not to as it has appeased my mind all is fine with the car.

Oh and for the best bit, no charge from dealer, very happy with the service
