i have a hesitation at low revs. in say second gear when drivng off or if i give it some welly it hesitates then finaly gets its power. almost like the turbo lag feeling you used to get on old turbo cars but obviously without the power they have  :grin:

could this be dirty throttle body or something els?

Similar to my prob changed pretty much everything and cleaned TB and still got it  :sick:

its a strange one as i just went for a drive and it didnt do it. but this morning and sometimes it does. is there any chance that a slitely blowing downpipe or manifold could cause it?

I no but I'm slowly working my way through it all  :grin:

Also since iv fitted the good exhaust I have noticed like a hot smell if you no what I mean. And the exhaust seems very hot all the way to the back and even the chrome tips feel propper hot. Don't remner my other exhaust being this hot at the backbox.
Iv driven golf about before and then worked under them wile they have just been for a long drive and the backbox's where never to hot to touch they were always just abit how.
It could just be coz I have a free flowing exhaust now and the heat is going all the way through ok but thought I would mention it.

could be that the mixture is wrong (i.e. rich) and that is generating the heat in the exhaust.  Would be tempted to look at ignition timing, MAF and Lambda for this type of problem, in that order.

Yeah totally agree I had this, done a scan and it was the lambda sensor, changed it and it was all good after

ah i see. anybody in luton area with a code reader?
also i have noticed that its a bit of a b!tch to start alot now. turns over and over then struggles to start. then dies. then i try again and it starts fine.

how do i check the ignition timing?
