boost issues.
« on: 28 June 2012, 16:47 »
i had issues when the car was cold. i would accelerate and it would miss and wouldnt go anywhere

i changed the dump valve to a forge 007. the issue was 99% gone

latelly the same symptoms have come back. maybe not as bad but still there. sometimes hesistations through the revs

it doesnt seem to do it when its warm at all though. never has done.

i have checked over as many pipes as possible. replacing any that were abit dodgy.

there seems to be a pss noise like a dump valve in the engine bay. i gather a gentle whoosh is normal. it seems to come from around the injector side but its hard to pin point.

do the valves get noisy with age. my car has got 160k on the clock. its starting to make a weird noise from the cam belt or head area. once revved its not there.

well i have checked as many as possible. especially around the injector area.

how come when fitted the dump valve it stopped? i did find a massive split in the pipe from the head but thats sorted. still no difference

when looking for boost leaks, oil is the easiest give away

have you replaced the top and bottom o rings on the injectors? you can get boost leaking from there
