Cracked Wheel
« on: 25 June 2012, 17:51 »
I have currently on my mk3 a set of banded steel wheels, however one has a crack in it, so the tyre is very quickly loosing air, i was just wondering if anyone had any idea of how much it would cost for a garage to weld it, or if its easy enough to do it yourself?
Cheers

I guess it is easy enough to weld but you need someone to do a top job (coded welder would be better)

Or if your not sure of the quality of the banding then scrap them

You have a crack in a banded rim! I know what I'd do with them

Engineering shop or fabrication place where they have professional welders, not joe bloggs from the garage
