which england manager had a better record than capello? Sir Alf Ramsey, Bobby Robson, Terry Venables, Glen Hoddle. Sorry i forget weren't we knocked out the second round of the world cup with capello in charge?

the only reason they expected to get knocked out at the 1/4 finals was because thats what the old fool woy told you! why would roy tell use we'd get knocked out of the 1/4 finals? its what the press and public expected because of the sh!t performances the players put in.

if those same 11 players were to be sold by their clubs tomorrow they would command a fee in excess of £200M! Wayyyyyy overpriced, most players are, so you think andy carroll is worth £35 million......no didnt think so

The reason england always lose penalties is very easy to figure out.... because they play for them by hoping some devine right they will win one and justice will be restored. How many times have england played a team off the park them lost on penalties.... none! so you then admit roys tactics worked if he played for penalties and the players let us down?.

Roy Hodgson took over a disorganised rabble who looked unlikely to get out of their group and turned them into an organised rabble who did.

dude... seriously wtf are you talking about  Roy took over a very disorganised England team which were expected to get knocked out of the group stages but has made an improvement by organising them and they exceed expectations, unless you expected roy to take over, score a million goals and win the euros?

Hodgson has been in the job two months. TWO FCUKING MONTHS!

What did he have to work with exactly? And for how long?

Hodgson organised a fairly poor bunch of players into a team that were hard to break down. We beat two average sides in Ukraine and Sweden and drew against two teams who are better than us in France and Italy.

I don't honestly know what more he could have done, and going out on penalties in the quarters is a decent enough performance, all things considered

If we're still playing backs to the wall stuff in two years in Brazil then fair enough, some criticism and questions will be valid.

For now, I want to know exactly what England were expected to achieve in their performances and group games given the circumstances.

Give him the job for the next 10years for all I care.... he will NOT win anything. He has a negative attitude to the way football should be played.

How you can say these players are poor is beyond me.... poor performance? yes. poor levels of ability? no.

Capello adapted his tactics to suit... players were not fond of it, but who cares they are paid to play!! pretty much like every other person who works. Did they not beat spain with Capello in charge? Why? because he had more than one plan unlike Won tactic Woy

I know you will be quick to talk about circumstance... did Woy not watch every single player in the Premier League this season when his team played against them??? Probably more matches than Capello watched!

So what are these circumstances you speak of? If you think that was an acceptable level of performance then you are as deluded as Woy

None of them had a better record than Capello

If you are trying to say that the level of the performance against Sweden, Ukraine and Italy was acceptable... from those players then you are a fool. They were set out to play the incorrect way & someone should be asking questions as to why Parker, Gerrard, Rooney, Milner struggled to play 45mins of football let alone a full match.

Pirlo at 33 certainly didnt look tired.

I personally think he has to accept some of the blame his defensive tactics were great but the midfield & attack was woeful, should of not made a massive deal about Rooney being so important as yet again on the big stage he was sh!t.

So you are defending Roy and blaming the players??

The run up to the Euros had seen england with a better record (over the past 2 years) than any previous period. FACT

So why was there so little expectation??? Because Woy was in charge... thats why!

I wouldnt say the blame lay with all players.. just those few regular under performers such as young, rooney & milner even welbeck was poor aside from his goal. Where was the rest of the 23 man squad Woy???

Of all the players he took the only others that made it on to the pitch were Henderson, Walcott and Ox (and Carrol if you count bring him on as simple target man with no support and part time defender).

Just remind me of Woys premier league AWAY record so we can all have a giggle? Or maybe you have his WIN record so we can laugh even more??  :smug:

Yes you have obviously read that information before...

The win ratio may be similar... the slight difference being the majority of Capellos games were competative. Time will tell...

Just for the record if you compare the previous england managers record...

He won the Seria A - 4 times
Coppa Italia - 2 times

As a coach

Seria A - 7 times with 3 Different teams!

Italian super cup - 4 times 2 different teams

Champions League

European Super Cup

La liga - 2 Times

Not to mention numerous manigerial awards.

There is simply no comparision between the two manager which kind of reflects the difference in football knowledge between you and I
