TBF, it was just a software problem that could happen to anyone.
I think the measures they've taken to get things back up, and to get customers reassured and not out of pocket has been pretty commendable. They've opened branches all weekend and for much extended hours, and they're doing all they can to ensure people are not without money in each instance. Anyone that has bills to pay are being re-imbursed provided they show evidence as well. You may say this is the least they could do, but you can guarantee Lloyds, Halifax or whoever would not go to these lengths. I've been with Natwest for about 18 years now, and absolutely never had a problem at all. I honestly think their customer services are second to none in the banking game.

This royally fecked me up, my business accounts and personal account are with shatwest.

Messed up payroll and my rent, then the cheeky checkers sent me. A text saying I'd attempted to. Ale transactions without funds, and would be charging me £8 per returned transaction..... That's 17 payments.

They'd better be nice to me in branch on Monday!

'Expert' on radio 4 reckoned that the problem has been caused by an outdated core computer system, natwest have recently rolled out a 'pingit' competitor and a cardless cash withdrawal system and the computers just fell over.

sorry if it sounded really brash Cully! :embarassed:

Im not trying to make excuses for them, I just genuinely think they are a good bank to be with. At the end of the day its a money making enterprise, therefore they want your money, and will do averytbing within their power to get it! I just think their customer service is actually very good, and having been a customer of theirs for so long, I would recommend them to anyone. Their obviously very skilled in the art of deception! lol.

just came across this thread yeah i really p!ssed me off on thursday as thats the day i get payed and i had been waiting all week to buy bits for my car. thursday came and my ballance was 0. i then went to natwest to find out why and they told me the systems were down but she agreed to give me £80 and said it would come out off my balance once everything was sorted wich is not to bad really. i was hoping she would loose the bit of paper she wrote it on
