Have you changed your back box if so what did you get.
I really don't want to be wasting money and been looking in to changing my back box to a twin pipe end. would this do the job? says straight swap but want to make sure it is. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360433400698?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_3867wt_1299

As with most back box's it probably wont be a straight swap and will prove to be a nightmare. I've got a cheap jobby on my 1.4 and it sounds alright but a bit chav. Ended up costing me around £100 to get extra pipe and what not to get it fitted.

You doing this yourself?

Dont quote me on this but if the part is made for a 16v/VR6 then you will need to reduce the sleeve end as it will be too big - we took my exhaust apart last night to change the middle silencer and there was all kind of sleeves from where it was changed before. The part itself will work - but fitting it might require some metal work in terms of sleeve sizes as stated above.

The size of the end going towards the engine looks about the same size as the one on my MK3 but I wouldn't take that as fact as its hard to get a good estimate from a picture like that. Would be a nice to upgrade it though as mine sounds awful - classic halfords exhaust sound on a small engine car, which is very undesirable, should be replacing it soon so keep us posted on how it goes :P

You will need to get the backbox, measure the input pipe outer diameter and get a reducer that will reduce it down to 45mm. This can then be used if you cut the pipe off the original backbox.

Back box may be 45mm in which case you will need a sleeve joint. It's probably 50mm. It's easy when you get the bits. I personally just weld it but you can clamp them.
