£400

Been fitted for 3 1/2 years now and covered just over 100k miles!! Had no problems with them. Think the adjusters have seized but haven't touch them since they where set up. For the money I can't fault them, fairly good ride, for coilovers. And with front and rear ARB's the handling was transformed

can't really give a review as i haven't got coily's on my golf YET.that is all to come but i had kw coily's on my s reg audi a3 1.8t (basically same car,diff shell)

and they were great!

comfy ride for coilovers but still sporty enough without to much harshness, set me back around 4-500 at the time i believe(was 2-3 years ago)

gonna get them again when i get round to rebuilding my golf in the near future!

ask anyone... the mk4 chassis is poo and £1400 suspension wouldn't improve it, they'd properly do a little better than the £150 JOM's.

how many mk4 race car have you ever seen really?

This is really making it difficult for me to decide now... so from your experience you would say the £1400 n above market are nt much if any betta dan £150 JOM what coilovers did u have b4 the jom? if the premium ones are the same as £150 jom then deres no way im goin to bother with weitec or kw rubbish either

sry bout all the questions but i jst dnt want to make the wrong choice being me first set of coiloveers but cos u had a set of premium coilovers b4 ur jom u could help

You get what you pay for.
Joms are budget coil-overs with 2 years warranty and if it makes a difference I live in South Wales valleys and as you can imagine its pretty bumpy everywhere. I have no complaints about Joms they hold the road very well but I would recommend you tighten the top nut on the front dampers before fitting as they come loose and eventually leak fluid out because the struts flex.

As for top end coil-overs I would expect them to be better build quality,last alot longer and perform better.

At the end of the day it doesnt matter what you buy, you get what you pay for.

im just curious why dundeal went from expensive coilovers to joms have they really made the jom much betta or are all suspensions pretty much da same just wid a sticker on it

Weitec and kw aren't rubbish mate and as the previous person has said the joms leak fluid cos the struts flex!

Personally when I do mine I'm going for a mid range set of kw as I had these on my previous car (Audi a3 1.8t) and had no complaints and were comfy enough to drive on everyday

Plenty of track toys, you are asking a lot from a decade old car which is just a sporty hatch back, not a rally car or a supercar. Again look at its brother the LCR all that is, is an uprated setup in the suspension department and that handles very different.

It's slow and handling doesn't compare to something like the mk2 Leon or s3, but like I said its an old car. But compare the mk4 to the other cars of its time from shape to interior to say a T reg mk4 fiesta, mk2 punto, the astra all in the time the mk4 came out. It was quite modern in comparison and if not a lot better, just jump into any most manufacturers T reg car and then jump back into the mk4.

Get in an EK9 and tell me that again..

EK9 is quick, not very torquey but the revs they hold makes them brilliant fun round bends. But is rather own a golf over it, plus top end on speed they lack as you get above 120. I'm sure on the track it would make mince of the golf.

Plus I'm not a fan of cars named after their CAD number nor do I dig vtec.

dunndeal did not pay £1400 for his coilovers if you read the thread from the start you will find that it is rockmonkey that has paid £1400 for them and he intends to use the car on the track i beleive ... which you can understand why he spent so much as i have jom but as good as they are for the money i dont think they would last 2 minutes on the track
