1988 GTI 8v seats

Hi, can anyone tell me what the seat pattern should be in a 1988 golf GTI 8v? Thanks in advance!

Depends... There are a few options - but most would be the square check - but there are different colours on the checks

cool cheers, did it make a difference if it was 3 or 5 door? do you know when the red and black striped seats were fitted to the gti's? cheers guys

on some 88 models it was the yellow and blue material.

my 1986 GTI has the black & red stripe

For an 88 you should have blackred or bluegreen check also available was leather and recaros...

Never seen that one...

Dubber36 is the one I would have expected to be fitted or the Blue & Yellow version depending on car colour & Spec Ordered...

Leather & Recaro's of course if you could afford it - like RM's, Headlamp washers Etc etc etc...

cool cheers for your help, ill need to try and sorce some checker seats, does anyone know of any for sale?? dunno what the seats are out of that are in my golf, there plain black!! prob not even out of a golf to be honest, ive never seen them before in anything!

Post some pictures and I'm sure someone will tell you what they are....

As for new seats.. Bear in mind 3 door & 5 door front seat's are different... Rear bench'e are all the same - as in fitment but you do have full benches and 60/40 split's...

Plus mega rare - rears with headrests...  "Rear" headrest's are smaller that fronts..FYI
