we had a problem with the toilet a few weeks ago

the plastic washer securing the handle had degraded so the handle wouldn't function, everything else was working perfectly

its a rental property so informed the landlord

the plumbers came out, i wasn't in at the time, they replaced the cistern to some turbo 3000 unit, installed it and the handle was as loose as a goose and in the 'down' position before you flushed it

now although we didn't pay for the work it was still very lame workmanship and also carrying out unnecessary work is unforgivable in my opinion

i called them back out and this time i was IN

told the bloke who came out that they had done unnecessary work and that the handle wasn't functioning properly

he said that it wouldn't have been done had it not needed to be replaced... and that the turbo 3000 (or whatever the fcuk it was) is an excellent cistern - my reply was that it could lay fcuking golden eggs, sing me a lullaby and lick my arse clean when i sh!t... it STILL DIDN"T NEED TO BE REPLACED and THE FCUKING HANDLE STILL DOESN'T WORK

obviously it was too late to do anything about the cistern, he altered the handle position - this time to VERTICAL and said that he would be back to fix it into the correct position

that was about two weeks ago and they still haven't been back

PLUMBERS - ARRRRRRGH  Drayton Boiler Services in Berkshire - DO NOT USE

and you wonder why that industry has a bad rep?

Toby - you might be right... but the CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT (even if they are wrong) - TREAT THEM LIKE GOLD DUST. did you agree a price beforehand?

Some of them are 'multi skilled, specialize in nothing' who work for 'maintenance' companies.
80% of your posts are total tripe, as they are mostly replies to sh1te posts created by the morons that, unfortunately this forum attracts.

not nessasarly so,  some customers are utter thingys  and most defantly arn't gold dust.   usd to try and keep them all happy,  now i politely tell them to f**k off.
the proof there not gold dust is when you politly tell them to f**k off and they come back - gold dust dosent come back.  at this point you just have to ensure the price makes dealing with them worth it.

i have one customer i charge £15 per hour more than the rest, he knows it and why. that much of a PITA  i still try and avoid going there i at all possible.   tho most are excelent to deal with so get a better deal
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
