What else would you replace?
« on: 14 June 2012, 20:19 »
Im putting new coilover springs and replacing a gasket and gearbox flange seal in the next week or so (see other post's) which has results in me looking to replace as much as possible while under the car to give it a little freshen up.

Ive got:-

1) wishbones
2) ball joints
3) bushes
4) braided hoses
5) wheel bearings
6) roll bar links

Anything else you would replace while I have my hands dirty?

Did think that but do not have the 300+ it will cost to do it.

I was trying to find one off a G60 as they are meant to be 23mm so only 1mm less than a eibach one.

I would replace the inner and outer CV joint boots, costs next to nothing, and use VW OE ones...

You are going to have the tracking/camber setup so I would do tie rod ends. They are cheap and if you have to replace one you need to have tracking done again. Also G60 top mounts. I didn't replace my original top mounts because they looked ok when I installed my collies but 6 months later they were buggered. One of my tie rod ends is also buggered now after 12months.

A new eibach roll bar is going to be just as good and highly likely to be better than old G60 arb. You can do this at a later date easily so i would wait until you can afford a new arb setup.

Just the ends or the whole tie rod? Is there any benifit from doing the whole rod?

I put mk3 top mounts on when I put the coilovers on as was told they are stronger than the G60 ones.

Is eibach to way to go then? what about Weitec or other
