i know its been covered on here alot but just need to be sure before i buy one so a few question

do i need a 22mm or 19mm bar? as ive noticed they come in different diameters

can i fit either?

No idea as to the standard 1.6 antiroll bar but the size you need is the size you choose to go for surely. I decided to go for Neuspeed 25mm front and rear antiroll bar and I am happy with the size. The antiroll bar is supposed to give more stability so it stands to reason that a thicker one would be better at the job.

yes agreed, but im not gonna buy a 23mm bar if its to thick to fit, its all a bit confusing as ive seen the skoda vrs bar (hoops underneath driveshaft) come in 2 different thicknesses  :undecided:

I'm not certain what kit your looking at but I would have thought the kit comes with the required bushes for the antiroll bar to make sure it's of the correct size.

My rear antiroll bar came with clamps, bushes, drop links, rear antiroll bar - all of the correct size to fit as you would expect from a kit. The fronts came with uprated bushes of the correct size as well - so as to accommodate the size of the antiroll bar.

Also my golf was a 1.6 to begin with, I replaced my 1.6 antiroll bars with 25mm front and rear antiroll bars.

You will be able to fit most size front arbs...You will see when you come to do it. It 'clips' on the subframe and you then tighten them...so can fit big or small. Bushes should come with the kit you buy. Rear there is no restriction on how big you fit

as long as the rear one is the same/bigger you should be well matched, but as you are going 'very low' you might as well remove the front one as you will ruin the handling anyway

you can get a 28mm (neuspeed?) rear that would go very nicely with a 25mm front

or 25mm rear eibach and r32 23mm front a bit more cost effective
