I like those alloys on the grey. Saw a set on a white car the other day and they look good in the flesh.

Martin, it all depends on how much money they have in the car, see what they offer you in p/x as headline figures are one thing but the actual cost to change is what's important. You'd want to expect around four to five grand off the original retail price (including extras) on a demo.

I wouldn't be changing a Golf that's lost the bulk of its money for another new or nearly new Golf so close to the end of the model run.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Then there is the whole already own a MK6 issue, do I wait for the Mk7 and M135?

Common sense would dictate yes. But who uses common sense when car shopping?

Cheers guys interesting to know what your thoughts are.

Going away this weekend so will have to arrange a test drive the following week. Then there is the whole already own a MK6 issue, do I wait for the Mk7 and M135?

There is no way on this planet that I'd buy a new MK6 knowing that the new GTI is just around the corner.  Just look what happened to the MK5 when the MK6 came out.

Without a doubt if I were buying a new quick car now, I would be getting the M135i, other that I'd take out for a test drive the new VXR and ST.

Cheers,

Jim

You paid less than £25k for a five door, DSG, with factory sat nav.....

That car is very high spec but I agree that it's very expensive.

Firm believer of go for a run out edition if planning on owning it for 3 years

Mk7 GTI sound like it has a development of tsi with ihi which won't float my boat

M135 in two door coupe more interesting as prob will be more of a looker
