MK4 Indicators/wipers fault
« on: 12 June 2012, 17:22 »
Hey, here's a fault ive never come across. Indicators work for about 5mins then stop working. A few days later same happens to my wipers front and rear. (Hazzards work ok). So i park up up for 5mins engine off. Then set off again with all working only for them both to fail 5mins down the road? They do come back during my journey but not for long. Any answers while i go and check for a loose Relay!!

Random at start now just dont work. On way to work today realised interior heater blower doesn't work either! Found a thread yesturday with same symptoms, wipers/heater blower and indicators stopped working but replies just dried up with "try fuses" and "maybe relay fault".

its definatly something electrical. the air bag fault will be where unplugged fuses for the dash cluster. youll want vag com to clear it. its too much of a concidence to be a plug or relay i think but i might be wrong. its happened before. where are you based? only as i have a indicator switch stalk u cud borrow to see how it goes. that would at least rule one thing out.hope u get it sorted
i think i love you.....

sry people forgot to close this one out  for those who read this thread the cure was replacing relay 100. by replacing this the indicators, front and rear wipers and interior hot/cold blower all worked after.
As for the air bag fault, vag com sorted 2min job.

much tkx all.
