improving bass in mk4 rear speakers
« on: 10 June 2012, 20:26 »
i've fitted a set of inphase coaxial speakers in the rear of the golf in place of the originals, i've been running them for a few weeks now and i'm not greatly impressed with the bass response on them. i know the positioning of them is not ideal for sound quality but does anyone have any tips for improving the bass output??

turn the bass setting up??

may need a sub to hit the deeper tones and add more depth.

standard front speakers put out a good amount of bass, but the rears are a bit of a let down atm

The speakers need to be in a proper sealed area, ideally to the size needed by said speaker, mounted on a solid baffle. The front doors of the mk4 golf are actually pretty good for installs and with some simple changes you will get more then enough out of them. Unless you drive sitting in the rear seats why bother with the rears? I take it these are amped and the amp is set properly?

Yep you're let down by crap mounting points in the rear of 3dr's, enclosures for speakers or stealth shelf and/or add sub
