air filter on a 1.6

This top mount air box is it that huge round ugly thing? if so i have a 1.4 and have the same i tool the heat pipe out and all the other cold feed pipes.i then put the hot feed pipe in to the air box and used a tin foil type cold feed from halfrauds to extend it to the bottom of my bumper grill.
my air box has also been drilled.

ok it hasn't made a massive difference but there is a slight difference. "SLIGHT"

There are TWO types of top mounted airbox. One is perfectly round and huge one is smaller and plastic with about 8 screws.

The 8 screws one is a MPI engine and much quicker and more responsive then the SPI engines.

mne has 8 screws, 4 little ones around the edge and 4 big ones in the middle long ones. is that what your talking about?

Yep yours is the MPI. Better engine IMO. SPI was pretty bombrpoof and is a torquey engine for what it is but the MPI is miles more responsive and quicker.
