Hello, so my mk3 8v won't start, it was working fine, i changed the gear box an now it turns over but won't start at all! Its got me stumped!
The fuel pump is working, i took off one of the fuel pipes next to the block an turned on the car an fuel came out so i think thats fine, its also getting spark. Tested that by putting the leads direct in to the coil pack and watched for spark while i turned the car on. Probably not the best methods to use but you can only pi** with the c**k you've got, ay!
When i was putting the thing back to gether, i got the battery leads to the starter motor the wrong way round. Put the one for the starter to the block an visa versa, there was a spark from where it attached the block realised i was a muppet an changed them back over, could this have fried my ECU?
Also my oil light is flashing but it was doing that last time it ran so i dont think its the problem, although i am gonna change the pump an stuff tomorrow.
Last of all my immobiliser was playing up, so when i tryed to start the car after the gearbox change it wouldn't let me, so i have remeved it, i think i've done it right or it wouldn't be getting fuel an the stater wouldn't work right? It was a Sigma.
Things i've done,
Crank sensor
ECU relay
fuel relay
The dissy an plugs are fairly new.
Timings all spot on.
Like i said out of ideas think it might be the ECU but i dont wanna just keep throwing parts at it.
