Cambelt kit...cheap version or expensive version

Hi all

my 1999 1.8t is on 76k and i though its about time for a cambelt change

i came across this kit

For around £174 is this a good idea to buy ...........or can you buy the same kit for less

do you need everything in this kit? / can you get away with anything - Reducing cost

+1 genuine parts or equilavent , doesn't have to be from the dealer.

Is the psi wourth getting...its seems to include everything bar the kitchen sink

That seems pretty cheap for what you are getting.

I'd be worried about quality. Especially on the waterpump and thermostat side of things, I find cheap ones just don't last as long.

Might seem expensive but really isn't.

Euro car parts.  About £120 before discount with new tensioner.  Just get a conti-tech belt.

or a dayco or gates belt which is what vw use, thats all a genuine belt is, you look on a brand new genuine belt you will find it says gates or dayco 99 percent of the time, you just dont get the 2 year parts and labour warranty
