Fixing my sun roof.
« on: 20 May 2012, 17:12 »
Ok my electric sunroof don't work propply.
When I press the putting to tilt it up it goes ok but when I go to close it only one side goes down.
When I look at the mechanism there is a metal thing that slides back.
On the side that closes the metal thing slides back ok.
On the side that don't close the metal thing don't slide back and a have to push it back with my fingers to get it to close.
Any ideas on what's happend and how to fix it?

The runners break mate.

Don't think you can change them.

I've got one for sale, I need to take it out the car then can confirm that you can't just replace the sliders or not......

Where all my moneys went.

Runners do break mate, mine have been broken for a year now. Really want to replace them. It's a whole sunroof job I'm afraid, so headliner out, rails and glass out and replace the whole lot.

Josho, PM me with a price when you can, if the seal doesn't leak

I wouldn't risk the brackets dislodging and jamming the roof open...

Is it the factory roof, if so then it can be easier to replace the complete unit.
