Heater Matrix - where?
« on: 16 May 2012, 19:47 »
I have to take out the dash in a bit to fix a leak, and to renew sound proofing, and i thought that since i have the original matrix and no bypass valves etc i would replace it all at the same time, so i dont have to remove everything again if it goes etc...

Question is, i have to get some stuff from ECP anyway, just wondered if their matrices are any good, or is this something i should get from the stealers?

Thanks

Got one from GSF last time, was a Valeo matrix which is the same manufacturer as the original but about a third of the price the stealers wanted to charge me iirc!

Buy either the Valeo, or Behr units and nothing else! GSF do them, and usually ask wether you want the cheap of expensive item, go for the expensive! otherwise you'll be doing the job twice!

This is the only one listed on ECP which fits my reg no, could i put in a MK3 reg and see if it comes up with anything different? No GSF near me anymore...

Thats a cheap and nasty one tbh and I wouldn't be overly confident with it. Considering its a dash out job thats will likely take you all day to do, I'd rather pay the little extra for postage for a branded one. (GSF are on ebay too!). I know us Corrado lot upgrade to the more sturdy mk3 matrix, so no doubt it will fit a mk2 as well. May give you more options on your search too.

Ditto, I believe that they are the ones that leak, and yes, you can use a mk3 item...
