was reading something earlier that was saying that they are following a similar model to the US where a board would interview as many managers as possible. obviously in the premier league thats not really how things are done.

On sky they were discussing how brendan rogers did the smart thing to turn down the chance to speak to LFC, simply because it doesnt mean they will hire him. It would have put him in a difficult position if he had to stand in front of his players next season and ask them to be fully commited.

If it had been done behind closed doors it may have been a different story. Same goes for Martinez... as he was one of the first they wanted to speak to, he would have assumed that the job was his. Going to make him look real bad if they dont hire him.

Its a good idea speaking to lots of managers... but this has to be done in a certain way. Yanks not quite up to speed it seems  :undecided:

cannot argue with the mans stats! he has won the title where ever he goes.... but will he be deemed young and hungry enough??

I think the hunger to keep that record intact should be enough

He's Knocking on a bit , but you could have the title say in the next 2 or 3yrs depending on how much money there is to spend , How much did Rafa spend and you still didn't win the Premship????

I don't know why everyone is sh!tting on Martinez.  He was fantastic at Swansea.  Granted he left under a cloud after saying he would never leave, but from what he had to work with at Wigan, and his run in a the end of the season, he would do very well at Liverpool.

The Swansea way of playing was instigated by RM. Taken on a bit by Paolo Sosa, and polished by Brendan Rogers.

If you wan't Liverpool to play the fantastic passing game that the had in the 80's, he's your man.
