someone on here who shall remain nameless ( but is converting a mk2 to a 1.8T and lives on a lickle island just Sarf of southampton )  thought I was barking mad when i told him to Roller his car

Cheers, still need to paint the roof and need to Mot it, had to weld the door steps but that's all done now so pretty much ready...

Its alot of time and effort, I wouldn't entertain it without a DA to be honest, its still alot of time and effort but much easier!!!

What you painting and what colour?

A DA Sander saves sanding by hand... Depends how much bodywork your doing really, my van had been hand painted and the finish was awful so needed alot of prep work.

DA only really for initial prep inbetween coats do it by hand or you could find yourself taking a lot of paint off ! also wet sand as much as you can as it doesn't clog the paper and so it lasts longer

Agreed, although the rustoleum paint is pretty forgiving, I useds 80 grit on the hand painted bottom half, then 240 everywhere then painted...
