Not off the top of my head I don't think it was just a tick box option on long code helper in central conv
Did it about a year ago on mine. I think it was doc who posted how to do it as I did the rear wiper one at the same time iirc.

There is info on this page VW Golf/Golf Plus (5K/52) Tweaks

Looks like you just pick the option from the Adaption drop down list and it does it for you.

I saw an Aldi A4 the other day with coming home fogs, but his tail lights didn't come on.

Sussed it...
Byte 17....coming home lights not turned on!

Now on, working in Auto, and I can toggle between Xenons or Foglights - Also Byte 17 - currently set to Foglights as they are a tad less extreme on your eyes as you cross in front of the car, through the beams.
