this is just confusing me

hard to see but top measurement is my standard wheel
bottom is my after market wheels .01" between them


tyre wall ~5cm. i.e 2"


hard to guess but this was measured from around were the bead starts(tyre fitted so had to guess) showing just over 9cm from bead to top of tyre, and if you do 45% of 225 you get 100mm ish

ah now i see why were getting confused. i ment the OPs alloys are 18. not mine i.e he would have more tyre wall than that at 17"

so we were each getting confused and argueing about different things  sorry should have worded it better.

ah well. back to op. nice alloys
